Testimonials

Words cannot express the amount of love and gratitude, the Brown Family has for the Margaret Culpepper Benevolence Fund for Cancer. In my time in need after 2 colon reconstruction surgeries (June 16 and March 17) with 12 toxic chemotherapy cycles in between and now phase 1 clinical trial using immuniotherapy this summer, Ms Tomika and the funds generosity has graciously donated to help cover the seasonal soccer fee for our daughter Emily. She is a top soccer goalie in the State of Michigan and the travel soccer fees really add up.
Cancer does suck but the Detroit Cancer Fund has shown the ultimate in care and kindness to me and my family. LOVE and HUGS - Howard, Lisa and Emily Brown  June 13, 2017

I would like to start by saying Hello to Tomika Culpepper, the founder of the Detroit Colon Cancer fund.  I reached out to this foundation for some financial assistance due to my situation and my illness. Tomika helped me with my situation immediately. She was and is a great blessing.  A blessing in the memory of her mother, Margaret Culpepper. I'm a recently diagnosed colon cancer patient.

Today I'm appreciative of being acquainted with Ms. Tomika Culpepper. I thank God for her creating such an organization. It brings awareness much closer to home amongst our people. Having been diagnosed with colon cancer in Nov. 2014 and currently going through chemo has put a great hindrance on my finances. Unfortunately, I accumulated overwhelming bills and medical expenses which needed my immediate attention and the Margaret Culpepper Benevolence Cancer Fund has helped me greatly.  I had no clue as to when I would be able to take care of those bills, but God....provided thru this special program.  Again, I say thank you :)  May God bless you more abundantly in Jesus name.

Sister Tomika Culpepper represents her Mother's Legacy in truth and dedication. Her mom has got to be oh so very proud of what she has left behind to show remembrance of her.  I'd like to start out by thanking "The Margaret Culpepper Colon Cancer Foundation" for being serious about helping Colon Cancer patients, Over Comers and families. No only monetary but personally inspirational. They are about it and not just hopeful conversation.  I was diagnosed with Colon cancerous lesions in January 2014. 6.5 hours of part colon removal along with bladder and gallbladder entries. 8 months of chemotherapy. All adding up to $1,000s and $1,000s of uninsured medical bills. I Thank God for so graciously sparing and allowing me to still be alive and functioning. God is not done with me yet. Including a birthday tomorrow. There are not many organizations that speak to you about help financially and support and the following week, after filling out an application, help is on the way.  One can pray and be hopeful but "The Margaret Culpepper Colon Cancer Foundation"- the best I can put it is/they are about it. They've showed me. And for this I, my wife and family are eternally grateful.

Thank you all so much for your gift of help and support. God sending you to me was such a blessing to us. Amen.

Tomika,

I want to say "Thank You"! When we spoke on the phone for almost an hour about me being overwhelmed and scared,  about how l was going to take care of Mom alone, you let me talk, vent and cry. You asked questions and commented like a  person who had walked in my shoes (because you had). And because you had, you created a kind and loving fund.  You  thought you were being too personal. I thought you were so generous with your time.  When you called me back and  explained what you had gifted me and my Mom ( a month of caregiving services) -words can never express how grateful I am and what that gesture meant  to us.  You are a God-send and more precious than silver and gold.  I hope you can continue to make a difference in more  people's lives as you have done in mine.

 Thank you,

Sheela Drummer (daughter of Lucille Barnett)  January 12, 1933- December 31, 2014.
